Legend has it that if you're running this bead on your Akule and Halalu rig, you don't need even run a softbait or a fly to attract them to your line.  The same guy told me that if you have Tako poke from Tamura's in your cooler you also catch more so I don't know if he's full of it.... but I do know his cooler is always full of fish.

3mm is the most popular size, but 4mm work well too.   Slide the bead onto your leader above your hook.
