Fly Fishing Hawaii Kurupt Hawaiian

Designed by Elias (Kurupt Hawaiian on Instagram), these flies target bonefish, golden trevally, and milkfish.

Directions:

Cast the fly at least one pole length in front of the fish's potential direction of travel. Move the fly to attract attention once within visual distance. Maintain tension on the line if the bonefish reacts. Perform a strip-set by pulling the line straight back. Avoid trout sets. Select flies based on water depth, currents, lighting, and wave conditions.

Size:

Use XXS or bead chain eyes with size 8 or 6 hooks for shallow water, no current, no waves, or low light. These flies generate a soft surface impact for casting closer to the fish.

Use XS or small eyes with larger hooks for high currents, more light, slight waves, deeper water, and lighted conditions. These flies generate a loud surface impact for casting further from the fish.

Use Large or XL eyes for deeper water and wave action. These flies stay in place and reach the bottom. They are ideal for fishing Maui flats.

Color:

Available in Tan and Brown. Use Tan for darker bottoms. Use Brown for lighter color bottoms.
