Can work on conventional reels from baitcast size (Shimano 30, Daiwa 50, Jigmaster) to slide bait size (Penn 4/0, Shimano40/50, Newell 500 series) with 40-80lb test mono (and braid backing) but,

THESE CONDITIONS MUST BE MET:

  1. Reel is in proper and good working condition. 
    1. Freespool should be engaged and tension knob is loosened all the way.
  2. The Line Stripper must have strong or newer batteries. 
    1. Line Stripper will not be strong enough to pull 40-80lb test with weak batteries.
  3. When line is in Line Stripper, it must be in the uppermost part of the spinning mechanisms.
    1. Simply feed some line through the Line Stripper. Then, pull both sides of line upwards.
    2. If line is in the middle of the mechanism the Line Stripper is unable to steadily pull.
  4. For best results despooling.
    1. 40-80lb monofilament may need a quick pull through the Line Stripper to jumpstart and get the Line Stripper going.
    2. Apply slight pressure with your finger to the spool so line doesn't fluff up.
    3. Monitor line coming off the reel and it's position in the Line Stripper.
